IVG Pro refills are the prefilled pods that keep an IVG Pro device running. You buy the device once and replace the refill when it runs dry, which is what makes the format cheaper per millilitre than replacing a whole vape each time — and it is the format that took over when single-use vapes were banned in June 2025.

What is in an IVG Pro refill
One refill is two parts that click together:
- A 2ml pod with the mesh coil built into it
- A 10ml refill container that feeds the pod as you vape
That is 12ml of e-liquid in total, rated at roughly 10,000 puffs. Because the coil is inside the pod rather than the device, every refill is effectively a fresh coil — you never clean or replace one separately, and the flavour does not degrade the way it does on a refillable tank you keep topping up.
Choosing a strength
IVG Pro refills come in two nicotine strengths, and the pods are otherwise identical.
- 20mg — the standard choice, and where the full flavour range sits. Most people moving across from cigarettes land here.
- 10mg — for lighter smokers, anyone who finds 20mg harsh in the throat, and anyone deliberately stepping their nicotine down. A narrower flavour list.
You can move between strengths freely. The device does not read the pod, so a 10mg refill and a 20mg refill behave identically in the same hardware — some people run 20mg in the morning and 10mg later in the day.
Two sizes
Refills come in 12ml (around 10,000 puffs) and 6ml (around 5,000). The 12ml is better value per millilitre; the new IVG Pro 5K refill pods cost less per purchase at £6.99, and that price is already duty-paid so it will not move on 1 October.

How to fit an IVG Pro refill
- Take the 2ml pod and the 10ml refill container out of the packaging.
- Line them up and press until they click together. They only go one way round.
- Slide the assembled unit into the top of the device until it seats.
- Leave it a minute or two before the first puff so the coil wicks properly.
- Draw on it. There is no button, no wattage and nothing to set — it fires on inhale.
That fourth step is the one people skip, and it is the single most common cause of a burnt first puff on a brand new refill.
If something is not right
Burnt or harsh taste on a new refill
Usually the coil has not wicked. Leave it standing upright for five minutes and try again with a gentle draw. Hard, fast pulls on a dry coil are what scorch the cotton, and once it is scorched it does not recover.
Weak flavour part-way through
Normal toward the end of a refill's life — the coil is nearing the end of its 10,000 puffs. It is not a fault and there is nothing to clean; fit a fresh refill.
Nothing happens when you draw
Check the device is charged and that the pod is fully seated — a pod that is not quite home will not make contact. If it still does not fire, try a different refill to work out whether it is the pod or the device.
Liquid in the mouthpiece
Usually condensation rather than a leak. Tap the pod gently mouthpiece-down onto a tissue. Storing the device upright helps.
How long does a refill last?
Around 10,000 puffs, but that number depends entirely on you. A heavy user can finish one inside a week; a light user can stretch the same refill past a fortnight. Twelve millilitres is a useful comparison point — it is the equivalent of six standard 2ml prefilled pods, or a little over one 10ml bottle of nic salt.
What a refill actually costs per millilitre
Worth doing the arithmetic, because "cheap" in vaping is usually quoted per device rather than per millilitre, and the two give very different answers.
An IVG Pro refill is £5.99 for 12ml, which works out at almost exactly 50p per millilitre. That is the number to compare against anything else you are considering — a 2ml prefilled pod at £2.50 is £1.25/ml, two and a half times the cost for the same liquid.
What the October duty does to that
Vaping Products Duty from 1 October 2026 is £2.20 per 10ml, so a 12ml refill attracts £2.64 of duty. VAT is then charged on top of the duty-inclusive price, which adds roughly another 53p. The realistic post-duty cost of a 12ml refill is therefore around £3.17 more than today — call it £9.16 against £5.99, or about 76p per millilitre.
Two things follow from that. Larger-format refills get relatively better value, because duty is charged per millilitre of liquid and the device cost is spread across more of it. And dropping from 20mg to 10mg saves you nothing at all — the duty is levied on liquid volume, not nicotine content, so both strengths rise by exactly the same amount.
Stock manufactured before 1 October can still be sold unstamped for a period after that date, so the change will not land everywhere on the same day.
Which devices do these fit?
These refills are made for the IVG Pro 12. They do not fit the IVG Pro 2 or other IVG devices, which take their own pods — the full range is on the IVG Pro page if you are not certain which device you own.

Common questions
Are IVG Pro refills the same as replacement pods?
Yes — the same product under a different name. IVG and various retailers use "refills", "refill pods", "refill packs", "replacement pods" and "prefilled pods" more or less interchangeably. All of them describe the 2ml pod and 10ml container sold together.
Can I refill an IVG Pro pod myself with bottled liquid?
They are not designed to be refilled by hand. The container is sealed and the coil is fixed inside the pod, so there is no practical way to top one up without damaging it. If you want to use bottled liquid, a refillable pod kit is the right device for that.
Is a refill cheaper than a whole new vape?
Considerably, which is the point of the format. You pay for the device once and then only for liquid and coil, rather than paying for a battery and a body you throw away every time.
Do I need a separate coil?
No. The mesh coil is built into every pod, so each refill is a fresh coil. There is nothing to buy separately and nothing to replace on a schedule.
How should I store spare refills?
Upright, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Nic salt keeps well but heat and light will darken it and dull the flavour over months.

Vaping Products Duty starts on 1 October 2026 at £2.20 per 10ml, charged on the liquid inside a pod as well as in a bottle.
