Everything a Vape Novice Should Learn
Learning how to vape? Here’s everything you’ll need to know.
We all have to start somewhere, and with vaping being such a recent trend it’s unsurprising that those new to the hobby may not know where to start. With so much choice in regards to vape e juice, people will most likely want to learn the ins and outs before they make their decisions on devices and flavours. Everybody has their own tastes and many will want different gains from vaping. With so many using it as a smoking cessation tool and others merely vaping for the sheer fun of it, on top of the lifestyle factor, you end up with a whole range of motivations and this will no doubt affect the devices and flavours you choose. Below is everything a novice vaper will need to know to get started on their vaping journey.
Which device suits you?
First off, let’s talk about the device which suits you. There are three different general varieties of vape device which all come with their own pros and cons.
The Cigalike is the first. These devices are most commonly used by e-smokers who are looking for a vape product which will cut down their tobacco intake. The cigalike is, as the name suggests, the device which resembles a cigarette the most and is used not for its cloud blowing prowess or great battery life, but for disposable, easy to use functionality. Many are disposable whilst some are recharged with a USB powered battery.
The vape pen is a mid-sized device which has more functions than the cigalike but still retains a size which is easy to carry and take with you. These devices are portable and rechargeable whilst also having simple adjustment settings which can help you to change the power and wattage. There is often a display which tells you details of the power at which your vaping alongside a button which you must hold down to use the device itself. These devices are less simple to sue than cigalikes, but its straightforward instructions mean that the average vaper can still vape with ease.
Vape Mods are mostly for the seasoned vapers, and usually include an adaptable tank which can be replaced as well as more powerful Sub Ohm settings. The devices are powerful and allow users to adapt their devices to their needs, meaning that there is a DIY aspect to them. This adds personality and originality to vaping, a dimension which is increasingly prevalent in the industry, but does mean that those who are new may be somewhat overloaded with new terminology, having to build up from vape pens before they begin modding.
PG/VG Content
Vape Juice unlike tobacco only has a few ingredients. These include water, propylene glycerol and vegetable glycerine, the vegetable glycerine and propylene glycerol being the ingredients which carry the vape liquid flavour. On vape juice bottles, you’ll see a PG/VG ratio. A higher PG ratio means that there is more flavour and nicotine, seeing as PG is used to mix in these two crucial elements of vape juice. The VG has a thicker consistency and is better used for sub ohm vaping where the vape intake is more powerful.
Nicotine content
Nicotine content can reach up to 3.6% in ecigarettes and it is therefore crucial that first time vapers, whether ex-smokers or not, choose the nicotine content which is right for you. There are also options to have nicotine free vape juices.
Finding your flavour
Last thing for vapers to do is to find their flavour. Whatever you’re tastes there will be a vape juice for you. One of the great things about Vape Shops is that there will always be someone on hand to talk you through what to expect from a flavour, making it an easy and comfortable environment for a first timer.
